Group and School Tours
Math, history, natural resources, and biology are just a few things we farmers work with everyday. Let us cover your daily lesson plans with a visit to the farm!
We have 2 hours of educational activities based on the season. You will also want to plan for an additional ½ hour to 1 hour to enjoy your packed lunch in our picnic/play area.
Your Spring 2010 tour includes:
ü
4- 30 minute rotations
ü
Hayride tour of our
dairy farm- from calf to cow learn how we take care of our 500+ animals
ü
Dirt
Babies- students will get to be mini farmers & create something
to take home, while learning about seeds & plant cycles
ü
Sheep to Shawl-
Warmer weather means even the animals need help taking off their winter
coats! We will demonstrate all the steps we take to shear our sheep &
how wool is prepared to make your favorite sweaters
ü
Chicken Class-
Feathers, beaks, eggs & chicks… students will become poultry experts
after this interactive, wings-on activity
ü
Play & Picnic Area
–Perfect for burning off energy & refueling with your packed lunch
ü
Ice cream snack for
every paid admission- students, chaperones & teachers!
(These activities are enjoyed in a ½ hour station rotation. Depending on your group’s size, you may be divided into groups (30-50 individuals per group) . This will be discussed at the time you book your tour.)
Please keep in mind!
We are a sunshine event only. Sadly, it’s not much fun on the farm while it’s raining. We will do the best we can with rescheduling your tour if you get rained out. We will be in contact with you as the forecast looms, and make the final decision by 7am of your date.
We provide everyone with an ice cream treat. Please inform us of any dairy/food allergies in your group, and we will provide an alternative snack for those individuals.
Portable restrooms and hand-washing stations are handicap-accessible.
